New England Media Group (NEMG) announced two changes in its senior management ranks at The Boston Globe.

New England Media Group (NEMG) announced two changes in its senior management ranks at The Boston Globe, promoting Christopher Mayer to Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer and Stephen T. Cahow to Vice President of Process Innovation.

Both are veteran employees of the Globe. Mayer, 42, is currently Vice President of Circulation Sales. Cahow, 55, currently serves as Vice President of Production although in recent months he has been on a special assignment leading the Globe's zero-based budgeting initiative, which he will continue to oversee.

"We are taking two of our best leaders and managers and moving them into positions that are critical areas for us as we continue to make our organization more competitive," said Richard C. Daniels, President and General Manager of the Globe.

In his new role, Cahow will be responsible for executing NEMG's strategy of organizational efficiency with an emphasis on process innovation. He has worked for the Globe since 1972 and previously served as general manager of a former Globe subsidiary, Community Newsdealers, Inc., and was a Vice President in the circulation department prior to becoming Vice President of Production. In that role, he oversaw all production operations at both the Boston and Billerica plants, including both press rooms.

He is a graduate of the University of Miami and lives in Andover.

Mayer, who first joined the Globe in 1984 as a programmer and analyst in the IT department, has held a number of positions inside and outside the Globe since then. He also worked with Community Newsdealers, Inc., has had management positions in the IT department and in his current role oversees single-copy sales and the newspaper's daily distribution.

Mayer is a graduate of Yale University and lives in South Boston.

Cahow's position is newly created. Mayer will replace Robert Murphy, a 31-year veteran of the Globe who has announced his plans to retire at the end of this year.

Dinamizálja-e az Origo-t az új vezetők, Vaszily Miklós és Novák Péter érkezése?

Igen, nagy lökést adhatnak a cégnek.

Nem, ők sem segíthetnek az Origo-n.

Valamennyire, de nem borul fel a világ rendje.
